the departure of our Beloved Prophet from this world on April 9, 1984,
many Daheshists and non-Daheshists alike, wondered about who is his
rightful successor. Some Daheshists held the position that since Dr.
Dahesh entrusted the copyrights to his books and his art and book
collections to a prominent Daheshist family then the head of that
family must be his rightful successor and subsequently her offspring.
Unfortunately, such a deduction cannot be further away from the truth!
Individuals with such reasoning cannot be blamed though, because they

About 2000 year ago, Jesus Christ was persecuted for preaching righteousness, love, and the belief in God. His persecutors were King Herod, the Jewish clergy and people, and Pilate Pontius. The story of his persecution continues to be told to this day and is passed on from one generation to the next. To Daheshists, the persecution of our Beloved and Guiding Prophet, is no less significant or severe, for on August 28, 1944, the founder of Daheshism was persecuted by a tyrant Lebanese president—who possessed Sayyals [Spiritual Fluids] from both, King Herod and Pilate Pontius—and the story of this persecution will also be told from one generation to the next.

In his inspired book “Strange Stories and Wonderful Tales,” our Beloved Prophet wrote a story titled “A Dialogue Between Four Candles.” Even though the story may seem to the reader as a work of fiction, however, the storyteller, speaking through a candle, tells the factual details of his own persecution and its consequences for Lebanon and the Lebanese people—consequences that led to an all out civil war that began on April 13, 1975 and the remnants of this civil war continue to be felt and develop up to this day.

A Dialogue Between Four Candles

It was exactly 7 pm on February 4, 1979, when a sudden power outage disrupted a conversation we were having and stark darkness filled the place. Present, were two men, two children, and four women. Chukri [the other man] briefly left us looking for candles and then returned with four that he lit and placed in a row on a table in order to provide us with light. Of course, it was a faint light if compared to the bright light generated from electricity. All of a sudden, I heard a faint voice speaking, so I focused my sight towards the source and to my wonder, I saw the first and the shortest of the lined up candles conversing with its fellow candles. So, I listened carefully to what it had to say and here it is:

First Candle: How miserable is Beirut! How pitiful are its dwellers! For four years the horrific calamities are pouring on top of its residents—just like molten lava—and without leniency or mercy. For the loud rumbling canon sounds had shaken the foundations of this inflicted city; the blasts of bombs deafened the ears and destroyed what it may from the structures; the launched mighty rockets inflicted destruction throughout the cities of Lebanon and transformed its happiness into a great sadness and enduring worry.

Many were orphaned, widowed, amputated, lost extremities, beheaded, and bullets penetrated thousands of bodies. The demons of hell attacked the residents of Beirut and harvested their souls, thereby eradicating them and wiping their traces from existence! It has been four years and the spilled blood is flowing like rivers and without satisfying the hunger felt by the demons of evil to harvest and kill souls. It is the fury of God Almighty that targeted this city and its villages thereby turning them into ruins. Wailing did not spare any home—without exception! All were inflicted with calamity. May God protect us from the havoc caused by the weapons of destruction throughout this beautiful country and transformed it into piles of rubble and ruins. It is a massive calamity that was inflicted on every Lebanese and changed his happiness to sadness.

The second candle inquiring from its short companion by saying:
O sister! What was the reason for this great calamity that destroyed Lebanon and transformed its structures to ruins?

The first candle responded: Didn’t you hear about the persecution of [Dahesh] the founder of the Daheshist religion? He was persecuted on August 28, 1944 by Bechara el-Khoury, the Lebanese president. This traitor, in agreement with his evil followers, dispatched a bunch of foreign street mobsters in order to relieve him from Dahesh—especially after the famous literary writer Marie Hadad, the sister of Bechara’s wife Laure, and her three daughters Magda, André, and Zeina had all believed in the Message of Dahesh and accepted its principles. Since that moment, Bechara channeled his anger on Dahesh and ordered the police and the police intelligence departments to follow Dahesh and to surround his home with undercover agents on a hope of catching him in any illegal act that would give them a probable cause to arrest him and to bring him in to the police station for questioning.

The surveillance lasted for six complete months, however they failed to achieve the intended result. Rather, all the written reports affirmed the decency of Dahesh and his abiding by the laws of the country. As a result of the police investigations and their fact-finding efforts, the detectives could not find any legal justification to use against him. On the contrary, the content of all of their reports was in Dahesh’s favor. When their plan failed, they dispatched a bunch of their evil mobsters in order to assassinate him at the entrance of his home, however, they failed because God saved him from the evil they intended to inflict on him—i.e., from being killed through assassination. Instead, they arrested him and placed him in a police car accompanied by Mr. George Hadad, the brother-in-law of Bechara el-Khoury. The cars of the mobsters were packed with men accustomed to committing crimes and they were following the police car while threatening Dahesh with their fists—despite his presence in a police car under custody.

Dahesh looked at the policemen and said to them: “Is this what you call justice in Lebanon? You arrest the innocent people and release the criminals so that they can follow you and threaten me in clear view of your eyes and yet you fail to act?” The policemen could not answer him.

After hearing this story and speaking with a shaken voice, the third candle asked: What happened then?

The short candle answered: This conversation is lengthy and would require many hours, however, in order for you to learn about the details of these horrific events, you can read the series of “Black Books” [66 Black Books] that Dahesh wrote about Bechara el-Khoury, the tyrant, who committed crimes on a continuous basis.

In a voice full of worries and after hearing all this, the fourth candle said: O God! How is it that they [Lebanese people] say: “Lucky is the one who has a goat’s resting place in Lebanon!”

The short candle answered: The saying is nothing but a fairy tale. The truth enforces the fact and the fact refutes made up sayings. The horrible persecution that Dahesh faced affirms that justice was lost, the truth was buried, and freedom was trampled over by the heel of a cruel ruler. Following the [unconstitutional] stripping of Dr. Dahesh from his nationality and expelling him from Lebanon, a painful series of wrecking horrors took place. Mrs. Marie Hadad was placed in prison and remained there for one year among the criminals and killers—all that because she defended the founder of her faith that was unjustly oppressed in the 20th century and in a city that they describe as the City of knowledge and light. The events that took place refute, obliterate, and wipe out any traces of this saying.

Likewise, Halim Dammous, the remarkable poet who is known as the nightingale of Lebanon, was also imprisoned. This peaceful innocent man was thrown into the depth of prisons unjustly and with brutality, not for any crime he had committed, but rather because he defended an innocent man by raising his voice in protest against this ugly and horrible crime. Through an executive order from the murderous tyrant of Lebanon, he spent one full year behind bars!

The three candles simultaneously said: Was there not a single man that supported the truth, defended the innocent, and protested the stripping of Dr. Dahesh’s nationality?

The short candle responded: With great regret I say, not a single man came forth—whether this man being a journalist, lawyer, member of the parliament, or a government minister. Yes, no one in Lebanon came forth and no one in all of its cities and villages defended a truth that all the rocks and inanimate objects testify to throughout this country—a country inflicted with the plague of oppression by the tyrant and murderous Bechara el-Khoury. All of them went along with him in order to serve their own self-interests. Why would they care if a group of people were oppressed as long as their-interests are safeguarded?

The three candles spoke simultaneously saying: It is a mark of shame that branded Lebanon as a result of this excessive oppression—especially when no man stood up in opposition to this shattering crime. If what transpired in Lebanon transpired in Europe, even at a scale of one-thousandth, such a government would have fallen hard as a result of widespread revolts. That’s because the European people are educated and keen on safeguarding their rights and their governments are even more diligent in safeguarding such rights. Such a horrific crime could never have taken place in any modern country or civilized capital. History had recorded a mark of disgrace on Lebanon and such a mark will remain a heavy burden on its chest for future generations. Just as the inhabitants of earth curse Cain for killing his brother Abel, likewise they will curse day and night Bechare el-Khoury and his evil gangsters.

The short candle continued by saying: Halim Dammous, the poet rolled up his sleeves and hit the streets objecting to this horrific crime committed by Bechara el-Khoury, the tyrant. He assured the people that the price for this crime will be heavy and unless: people raise the flag of disobedience and denounce this crime; individuals or an honorable group volunteer to demand the restoration of citizenship to Dahesh; the press publish the details of this heinous crime and criticize those who committed the crime; and unless they listen to these guidelines derived from the Spiritual World, then he assured them there will come a day when punishment will be inflicted on Lebanon and destroy its infrastructure, demolish its buildings, orphan its children, kill its men, dishonor its women…and just as this criminal [the president] turned Dahesh homeless, so will God turn the people of this country displaced and homeless.

He affirmed to them this scary prospect through repetition and on several occasions, however, his words fell on deaf ears, for no one budged and no man volunteered to take the side of the truth by defending Dahesh, the innocent, and by denouncing the crime of the Lebanese president—a despicable crime that is judging Lebanon and inescapably tarnishing his reputation with severity.

Finally, the people kicked Bechara el-Khoury out of office and consequently he lived an isolated existence at home overwhelmed with disgrace, grief, desperation, and anguish filling his evil soul. The people kicked him out of office after obtaining evidence of his criminality in sucking Lebanon dry. He used Lebanon as a milking cow that he solely enjoyed and deprived all others from it. However, no man or faction came forward to defend Dahesh, rather, the newspapers wrote and published articles ridiculing Halim Dammous, the poet, saying that he had lost his mind and became insane for saying that if no one defends Dahesh and denounces the crime Bechara el-Khoury committed against him, that a horrific punishment will pour down on Lebanon. The newspapers continued their attack by writing that whatever Halim Dammous is saying, it is nothing but trivial fabrications and that he should be locked up in a mental institution, because that’s where he belongs.

The short candle continued by saying: God is patient, but never neglectful, so the days passed and the hour of punishment approached and here we are in 1975. In this year the noise of gunshots is ear-piercing, followed by bombs, Kalashnikovs [assault rifles], rockets, and canons…the instruments of destruction poured over Lebanon in a very horrific way! So many young men were slaughtered based on their identity card [reflecting religious affiliation], were scalped, butchered in scary basements, eyes gouged, noses amputated, and necks cut off! Horror filled the streets, traversed the homes, and searched around the curves. Killing took place on both sides based on the identity card of the holder without pity or mercy not whatsoever. Fear took over, dread prevailed, horror filled the hearts and took shelter in the chests. The buildings began to fall and to disintegrate from the impact of weapons of horror!

Many were the rapes! Many young people were kidnapped and then immediately killed! Many stores were burglarized and many homes were wiped clean of their contents! Tens of thousands of people deserted the country of horror leaving behind their homes and becoming homeless throughout the world! Here you find the citizens of “Al-Damoor,” who left their city, mourn its founders after being taken over… Many were the tragedies that took place! When mentioned, one may think these tragedies are just myths being told and not facts.

The three candles asked their short leader saying: What about Dahesh? What happened to him? She answered: Dahesh was on the heels of his persecutors, for his [66] Black Books broke their back and unveiled their true nature, thereby appearing to the people naked and without cover. His Black Books were filled with the most horrible of deeds that they had committed and the most despicable of behavior that they had immersed themselves into, thus allowing the people to realize their obvious and hidden shortcomings and consequently to curse them day and night.

I assure you that had there been individuals that defended him [Dahesh] as an innocent victim whose rights were violated, God would not have poured his wrath on their cities and turned them upside down. What was inflicted on them was inflicted previously on Sodom and Gomorrah. Many were the times that Lot advised his countrymen, the residents of Sodom and Gomorrah, to refrain from wickedness, however, they did not heed to his lectures and instructions and prompted God Almighty to rain on them fire and brimstone thereby burning their cities and eradicating them forever. When people read about their conduct, they curse over their defiled graves.

Likewise it was with Father Noah, who advised his people many times to refrain from wickedness and to ask for forgiveness, however, they would intensify their ridicule of him and their mockery of his sayings would increase. That’s when God rained on them for 40 days and nights and the Great Deluge killed them. This is what happened to Lebanon! Halim Dammous, the poet, advised the people many times and repeatedly, however, his efforts were like someone playing the trumpet in the middle of the desert. His lot from his countrymen was a quick mockery and ugly talk.

When none of them defended the violated rights of Dahesh; did not attack the horrible and enormous oppression that the tyrant Bechara el-Khoury inflicted on Dahesh; and without a change in behavior things got to a boiling point, the bow of patience run out of arrows, and the specified hour of punishment approached; then the prophecy that Halim Dammous derived from the Spiritual World and relayed to them repeatedly and on many occasions did come true. He was rewarded then with a barrage of ridicule carried in the newspapers—just as Noah and Lot were ridiculed.

I did say that the hour of punishment approached and now the artillery is thundering and pouring its devastation on all the Lebanese people. The rockets are roaring like lions and producing horrific sounds, while the bullets and grenades are harvesting the lives of people. The land is now full of orphans and the wailing from fear is now widespread throughout Lebanon. This calamity is complete and the destruction widespread and did not spare anyone. The horrible crying and loud wailing filled the ears. The looting, theft, and attacks covered everyone and they were all punished without an exception.

Had they listened to Halim Dammous, the poet, and there were people that defended the founder of Daheshism, they would not have reached this horrible end that stormed Lebanon violently.

All of a sudden, the power was restored and the bright electric light overwhelmed the candle and stopped its dialogue.

Dahesh
(Beirut at 7:15 PM on February 4, 1979)

A Dialogue ...

I made a visit to Mount Vernon, home of one of our Nation’s Founding Fathers, where my footsteps retraced, along with those of millions of visitors, over the footsteps of this great man. As I passed by his tomb, the air whispered in my ears in a proud tone: You may have retraced his footsteps, but it was I who carried the tone of his voice to the soldiers he commanded in pursuit of liberty and witnessed his setbacks as well as his greatest victories and achievements!

I made a visit to Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson, another of our Nation’s Founding Fathers, where I walked through the mansion and passed through the vineyards. The air whispered in my ears with joy: He breathed my molecules so I was able to witness firsthand his genius; his lofty ideals that influenced the writing of the US Constitution along with John Adams, Thomas Paine, and others; and his integrity as a human being. I was there during the sendoff of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and the Louisiana Purchase!

I made a visit to Lincoln’s Memorial and came face to face with a statue of this brave and great President, who is credited with preserving the Union and the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation and the Proclamation of Amnesty and Reconstruction. The air whispered in my ears in a sad tone: For years, I have watched him anguish over the evils of war and all those who died as a result of. He carried this burden on his shoulders until he died. His decisions culminated in turning a new chapter in our Nation’s history and a steady move towards justice, fairness, and human dignity. I also witnessed the horrific assassination of this great man by the cowardly act of John Wilkes Booth.

I made a visit to Arlington Cemetery where I was humbled by the brave men and women who gave up their life for the sake of our Nation—to include our courageous President, John F. Kennedy and his fight for fairness, justice, and civil rights. The air whispered in my ears sobbing: You have no idea how it feels to witness the lives of hundreds of thousands of people! Each grave that you see here can provide material to fill a book, or in some instances, volumes. I witnessed their happy and sad moments; the best and worst aspects of their life; the lives of people around them that they touched or influenced; and their greatest accomplishments and tragedies!

I visited place after place…and the air whispered and whispered in my ears…Finally, it dawned on me that whatever we think, do, or not do, the air will always bear witness and will recite our story to future generations!

Mounir Murad
July 18, 2009

By Mounir Murad

What we perceive to be the “Truth” is in reality no more than a few slivers of light emanating from a bright star. Our knowledge, despite the rapid advancement in science, is at the kindergarten level—if that—when compared with the knowledge of the Lofty Worlds of this vast universe and that of any other universe(s). Even if we are able to travel at the speed of light, space exploration will remain limited to those stars that are reachable in our lifespan, such as Proxima Centauri Alpha, which is about 4.3 light years away from Earth. To travel across our galaxy would take 90,000 light years. To cross to the nearest galaxy would take 3,000,000 light years. Our universe contains about 125,000,000,000 galaxies, let alone any parallel universe(s). To say we are a grain of sand on the beach or a drop of water in an ocean would not be an overstatement. All that I just mentioned is true when viewed through the eyes of human beings using our understanding of the laws of physics. What if there are more advanced entities in the universe that travel vast distances in a nonlinear fashion by bending the space-time continuum? What if there are entities that travel at speeds faster than that of light? How could the vast energy that converted to mass during the Big Bang, thereby creating this universe, have existed from nothingness in violation of the laws of conservation of energy? How could the past, present, and future be one and the same for individuals endowed with Spiritual Powers, in the likes of Jesus Christ? Humanity will never be able to arrive to such answers on its own without intervention from powers that are far beyond its level. But how do these powers manifest themselves to humanity?

Daheshism is unique among religions in its ability to tie in all possible existences throughout this universe and other universe(s) to each other and to the Spiritual Worlds that created them. Granted, this knowledge is relative to our Spiritual merit and it is only at a very primitive level if compared to that of the Loftier Worlds. Albeit a primitive knowledge, yet it is a much more comprehensive view than what traditional religions or philosophies have to offer. This vast universe is ruled by the thousands of Sayyals (Spiritual Fluids) of the highest Spirit in the Spiritual Worlds before God, known as “Christ.” This powerful Spirit is not only the source of Prophets, Guides, and Reformers, but also the force behind the advancement of science, philosophy, literature, music, and art. Individuals such as Einstein, Socrates, Plato, Beethoven, Mozart, Shakespeare, and many others, can be viewed as Guides with a specific mission to extend humanity with a specific form of knowledge. The Sayyals of Christ brought us Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and many others. Mind you, each religion came at a specific period in history, for a specific group of people, and according to their Spiritual merit. It is this Great Spirit of Christ that brought humanity a 20th century manifestation of itself in the form of a new Prophet and Guide to fulfill the prophecies of the past and make new ones for the future.

Prophets of Judaism prophesied the coming of the Messiah. Today, Jews are still waiting for the Messiah. About 2000 years ago, they rejected Jesus Christ as the Messiah, because he did not fit into their image of what the Messiah is supposed to be, for he was the son of a carpenter and lived a very ascetic life. They envisioned the Messiah to come as a powerful king, rid them of the Roman rule, and restore to them the glory of Israel as it was during the rule of kings David and Solomon. Christians and Muslims are waiting for the second coming of Christ. Christians expect the second coming of Christ to be a spectacular scene, where Christ comes on a cloud and gather up all the believers. Most Muslims expect the returning Christ to preach Islam. The Shi’a, a sect of Islam, expect the “Mehdi” [The “Guided One” and redeemer of Islam] to come along with Christ during the end of times. The New Testament and the Qur’an both associate the second coming of Christ with the end of the world and the destruction of Earth. During the first decades of Christianity, Christians preached that the end is near, yet two millenniums have passed! Over 1,400 years ago, the Qur’an also preached that the end is near. Events from the past had shown that expectations are one thing and reality is another. Who is to say what “near” means in Spiritual terms?

As the Dark Ages came to a close, the world witnessed the age of Renaissance, where literature, philosophy, art, music, and architecture flourished. At the same time, major scientific discoveries paved the way for the Industrial Revolution and placed science and religion on a collision course ever since. No one could ever forget the horrific treatment of Galileo by the Catholic Church and the horrific crimes committed against humanity during the Spanish Inquisition. In the late 19th century and early 20th century, the inventions of Thomas Edison played a fundamental role in the advancement of scientific knowledge and scientific discoveries mushroomed. In 1901, Marconi transmitted telegraphic messages ushering the way for long distance communications. In 1903, the Wright brothers took their first flight. In 1905, Einstein introduced the Special Theory of Relativity and proceeded with the development of the General Theory of Relativity. In 1907, Lumiere developed color photography. In 1908, Ford produced the first model T automobile. In 1910, Marie Curie finished her “Treatise on Radiography.” No time period in the known history of the world would even come close to what the 20th century delivered in terms of scientific achievements—that provided enlightenment and at the same time drew the world closer to total annihilation. The second coming of Christ came at a crucial time for humanity, not only to affirm scientific discovery, but also to frame such a discovery in a Spiritual context. His descent to Earth was also to warn of the impending danger from annihilation unless humanity embraces: love and virtue over envy, greed and immorality; brotherhood of man over exploitation and injustice; and Spirituality over materialistic tendencies. So it was that on June 1, 1909, an immigrant Christian couple to the Holy Land, gave birth to Saleem Moussa El-Ashi, who grew up to be Dr. Dahesh, our Beloved and Guiding Prophet, the returning Christ, and the gift of Heavens to humanity.

During the childhood and youth periods of our Beloved Prophet, the popularity of Gibran Kahlil Gibran was growing in the United States and abroad. Kahlil Gibran is considered by Daheshists to be the forerunner to Dr. Dahesh—in the same fashion John the Babtist, who is the reincarnation of the Prophet Elijah, was the forerunner to Jesus. Kahlil Gibran published Spirits Rebellious in 1909; The Madman in 1918; The Prophet in 1923; and Jesus, The Son of Man in 1928. He died on April 10, 1931. Our Beloved Prophet died on April 9, 1984, a day shy of the 53rd anniversary of Kahlil Gibran’s death. Dr. Dahesh was only 21 years of age at the time of Gibran’s death and the two never met in person. Our Beloved, at the time, was extremely moved by Gibran’s writings. In his book, Secrets of the Gods, our Beloved speaks highly of Gibran and his writings and calls him “my brother” in one of his poems. Why shouldn’t he, for Gibran is known to some Daheshists, to have had certain Sayyals extended to him from Christ.

Dr. Dahesh grew up at a time when the entire world was in turmoil. WWI was a horrific war where millions upon millions died, massive populations uprooted or became homeless, and many great cities were devastated. Such were the conditions that he lived under during the first few years of his life. Soon after, his father died and he was placed in an orphanage for a short period of time, where he received only a few months worth of education. He never formally attended school, however, his writings filled over 100 books. In 1930, he took residence in Lebanon and on March 23, 1942 Daheshism was declared and attracted an intellectually diverse group of individuals. Daheshism appeared at a time when the world was engulfed by WWII—a war that exceeded its predecessor in magnitude and ferocity and ended with the total annihilation of the cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. In the beginning of 1946, Dr. Dahesh wrote his book Memoirs of a Dinar, through which he foretells the annihilation of Earth by means of nuclear weapons. As to when such a moment may come, no one knows exactly. We learned through a Spiritual Message that Daheshism must spread first and here is the reference:

“Let it be known to you that the various religions that are present among the nations, have existed for a Spiritual purpose, otherwise, they would not have existed. The Buddhist possesses certain Sayyals, through which, merited being a Buddhist. So too is the Confucian, Muslim, Christian, and so on. Therefore, the diverse religions would not have existed without a purpose and know also that they will also have an end because the crucible of Sayyals will condition the form they must take. At that point, you will find one religion and one faith dominating this entire Earth. Let each one of you be certain that this will take place sooner or later. One may question how this could be knowing that the end of this Earth is near—a timeframe that does not allow the Sayyals to be conditioned and be of the same level to allow this amazing transformation in the souls of human beings? I respond to this person by saying that when the time comes for this life-cycle on Earth to end, whoever becomes a believer and walks the true path—those are of a significant number—will be grouped and will be sent to a world loftier than their last world of continuous suffering. As to those who could not walk this path as their duty dictated them to do, they will be given a different Earth other than this one where the Sun does not shine on them and they no longer see the glittering of the stars.”

This message is very consistent with the Bible and the Qur’an when talking about the Final Days, Day of Judgment, and Day of Gathering. According to the Epistle of Paul to Thessalonians, he wrote: “There is no need to write you, brothers, about the times and occasions when these things will happen. For you yourselves know very well that the Day of the Lord will come as a thief comes at night. When people say, “everything is quiet and safe,” then suddenly destruction will hit them! It will come as suddenly as the pains that come upon a woman in labor, and people will not escape.” 1 Thessalonians (5:1-3) According to the Qur’an: “They ask you about the Hour, when it will strike. Say: “The knowledge thereof is with my Lord; none but He will disclose it at the right time. It will be fateful in the heavens and on earth, and will not come upon you except suddenly.” (Sura Al-A’raf: 187)

Our Beloved had come and gone and now it is our responsibility to carry the torch that he lit for humanity. As we enter the 2nd century since his birth, we can only hope that the following few years expose the world to the Message that our Beloved had suffered for. His Message of love, compassion, and Spiritual enlightenment will become a beacon to the world that guides those who strayed from the path of righteousness. Yes, the Day of the Lord will come, but that doesn’t mean that we should get depressed, give up, or become idle. On the contrary, we should look at the time we have left in this life as an opportunity to make a positive mark on humanity and to Spiritually elevate ourselves. May this blessed day of June 1, 2009, be a turning point in the life of every human being.

By Hilda Murad

June 1st, 2009 is the birthday centennial of Dr. Dahesh and Daheshists throughout the world will celebrate on this occasion. Although our Beloved and Guiding Prophet had passed away on April 9, 1984, he is alive in our hearts and we believe that he is watching us and looking after us from his Lofty World. His soul, as with all other souls, will never seize to exist. He is in a Celestial World, where I am sure other Prophets, angels, and elevated souls are also celebrating on this occasion.

His departure from us was a big loss to Daheshists and to humanity. I am consoled by the vivid memories of the years I spent with him. The beginning of June is a lovely time of the year when most flowers have bloomed and the fruits are ripe or about to become so. I remember well the delicious fruits of Lebanon at this time of the year—especially the figs, berries, huge strawberries, apricots, grapes, watermelons, and many other types. Daheshists used to celebrate the birthday of our Beloved and Guiding Prophet in a huge hall at the Mission’s mansion, where poets, writers, doctors, lawyers and working people gather. The poets would recite their poetry in praise of our Beloved and/or of Daheshism. Then the orators would deliver their essays about the Miracle Man and/or to explain his teachings to the new comers.

Nowadays it is not only a day of celebration, but also a day of reflection. On this day we remember Dr. Dahesh, the compassionate man who possessed a good sense of humor, high charisma, strong personality, and a golden heart. We remember his smiling face and his busy schedule meeting with people, writing, and reading books, magazines, and newspapers. We are so fortunate that we had the opportunity to be with him while he was in our midst. We are also very grateful to God who sent us a Prophet and Guide to help us through life and lead us to righteousness. He would explain to us Spiritual matters that we did not comprehend on our own. We are so fortunate to delve into some of life’s mysteries and secrets and to learn about the existence of life on other planets. We learned through his Spiritual teachings that leading a life of righteousness will undoubtedly cause us to reincarnate in a better place and avoid the blazing fires of hell.

Just as people at the time of Jesus Christ did not appreciate having a Prophet of God in their midst, so it was with our Beloved and Guiding Prophet. Many were the people that he met with, yet only a few people cared to truly learn about his true identity and to follow his teachings. They would meet with him, witness countless miracles, and then continue to blindly follow their religion and traditions. Many were afraid of what other people might say or think of them if they accept Daheshism. Some only cared for wealth, fame, or status and in attaining such goals, they were willing to leave their faith, virtue, conscience, and hearts behind—despite their knowledge of the Day of Judgment. On such a day, each one of us has to be accountable for what he/she did in this life and be rewarded for it by reincarnating in a Spiritually loftier place or be punished by reincarnating in a degraded world full of suffering, sickness, poverty, torture of the soul and mind, and where lamenting themselves and asking for forgiveness will not help them until they finish their prescribed time.

We raise our thanks to God for his mercy and providence and we also thank our Beloved and Guiding Prophet for the new life and faith that he had given us, thereby enlightening our obscure minds and hearts. My family and I will always remember your teachings and pass them on to others without religious bias or being judgmental. We miss you dearly and hope for an opportunity in the future to be with you again. Please accept my sincerest wishes and appreciation on your first birthday centennial.

June 1st marks the birthday of our Beloved and Guiding Prophet. This year we celebrate his centennial birthday, for it was on June 1, 1909 that he descended to earth in a human form in order to deliver a Divine Message to the world, namely Daheshism. About two thousand years prior, the birth of Jesus took place and his birth is shrouded in mystery up to this date. Here is a brief recount of the birth narrative according to the Gospel of Matthew:

“Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem in Judea, during the time when Herod was king. Soon afterward, some men who studied the stars came from the East to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the baby born to the king of the Jews? We saw his star when it came up in the east, and we have come to worship him.” When King Herod heard about this, he was very upset, and so was everyone else in Jerusalem. He called together all the chief priests and the teachers of the Law and asked them, “Where will the Messiah be born?” In the town of Bethlehem in Judea,” they answered. “For this is what the Prophet wrote: ‘Bethlehem in the land of Judah, you are by no means the least of the leading cities of Judah; for from you will come a leader who will guide my people Israel.’” So Herod called the visitors from the East to a secret meeting and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. Then he sent them to Bethlehem with these instructions: “Go and make a careful search for the child; and when you find him, let me know, so that I too may go and worship him.” And so they left, and on their way they saw the same star they had seen in the East. When they saw it, how happy they were, what joy was theirs! It went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. They went into the house, and when they saw the child with his mother Mary, they knelt down and worshiped him. They brought out their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, and presented them to him. Then they returned to their country by another road, since God had warned them in a dream not to go back to Herod.” Matthew (2:1-12)

According to Dr. Brax, as published in Dahesh Voice, Vol. 12, No. 1, 2006-2007, “As to the Magi that played a role in the announcement of the birth of “King of the Jews,” they were not astronomers or kings as theologians tend to think, but rather they were materialization of creatures from the Worlds of Paradise that were ordered to descend to Earth to contribute in the execution of the great redemption mission of Lord Christ. This secret needed to remain sealed during that period and was unlocked through a Daheshist revelation.” Furthermore, it was revealed to Dr. Brax that one of the three Magi that materialized during the birth of Jesus was called Makkali and he is the Ruler of the 10th planet called “Jamaliyoon.” On June 1st, 1942, a Spiritual Message written by Makkali himself and addressed to the Beloved and Guiding Prophet, descended to us and contains the following:

O Beloved and Guiding Prophet and the Great “Guide”!
O powerful, yet modest, who had returned to Earth!
The entire people of Earth do not know you!
You are unknown to them yet known to us!
All the Worlds praise your name!
All the Spirits are in humility before you!
I stand before you in humility, bow down to your pure shadow, and praise your divine miracles!
On behalf of all the residents of the beautiful star “Jamaliyoon” and myself, please accept our sincerest humility that we raise in awe and submission!
O noble one! You will be persecuted by those unbelievers and cursed humans, who will fabricate the most despicable of accusations about you!
They will invent disgraceful lies in order to distort your noble truths!
However, you will proceed with your Divine Mission no matter what horrible difficulties block your path and you will not hesitate to spread it!
O Prophet, your comprehensive mercy will engulf their world and ours!
So have mercy on them and on us!

Makkali,
On behalf of the planet “Jamaliyoon”

By Hilda Murad
April 9, 2009

Today Thursday, April 9, 2009, it is a black day for me and the Daheshists of the world, it is a very sad day because our beloved prophet Dr. Dahesh passed away. On this day on April 9, 1984, we became orphans, for we lost our heavenly and earthly father. Today, I was thinking how the days and years pass so fast. The current events taking place in Beirut, Lebanon took me back to the good old days, some 34 years ago when Dr. Dahesh used to say Lebanon is a country I would have loved had they listened to my prophecy. Dr. Dahesh recalls the black days of Lebanon and did his best to advocate the unity of religions and save its people by telling its Christians and Muslims and all other religions have to live in harmony under the title “Unity of Religions.” However, they thought that he is insane and dangerous in his preaching and attacked him, put him prison, and tried to kill him. If the Lebanese people were wise they would have listened to him and tried to understand his philosophy, but instead, they followed blindly their rulers and religious people. This is the result, God sends you a prophet or a messenger to lead you to righteousness and if you choose not to follow his message, then you are responsible and deserve whatever happens to you.

I am an American with an Arab background and my mother is Lebanese. I had to leave Lebanon in the year 1975, when the war was tearing apart that beautiful country. I was always hoping that the situation would get better and I would go back, unfortunately, this did not take place.

The Lebanese people have to dig and read about the black or dark days of Dr. Dahesh, when he was attacked by President Bechara El-Khoury for no reason just because he was calling for the Unity of Religions and people should respect every religion and not fight it. The Christians that attacked and imprisoned Dr. Dahesh had no religion because if they feared God they wouldn't have done what they did and misled their own followers. The Lebanese people should be wise after suffering from the misery of war and the suffering they went through. My advise to them is to look for the truth, go and dig the history of Dr. Dahesh and his philosophy of Unity of Religion and follow it. This is when Lebanon will change and prosper and God will help the Lebanese people because they have changed and followed the path of righteousness.

When they were mocking Dr. Dahesh in Lebanon, no political figure, no reporter, no professor and no lawyer defended him as a Lebanese, especially when President Bechara El-Khoury deprived him from his nationality and threw him out beyond the borders so that he would be kill. These events took place because the sister in-law of the President, Mrs. Marie Haddad and her family believed in Dr. Dahesh. They put her in jail and then in a mental hospital claiming that she is crazy, while Marie Haddad was writing her memoir and books about Dr. Dahesh and Daheshism and books attacking her sister and her husband Bechara El-Khoury. History will not forget this act; the Lebanese people from South America were calling for his defense but no one from Lebanon. The following are some main points of the Daheshism doctrine:

• Virtually all religions deliver the same message. Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and others are similar in their teachings of the word of God; however, organized religion over the centuries had played on social differences to create chasms between them—chasms that promote their own ideology and their financial and political gains.

• Prophets may differ in the delivery of their messages due to cultural, social, or spiritual reasons, however, their message is one and the same. If people practice what they believe, the world would be a better place.

• The Ten commandments are the corner stone of each religion.

• Reincarnation is a vehicle to administer God’s justice.

• Our life on this planet is for a specified duration in order to improve ourselves and elevate our souls. Once we die, we may reincarnate on other worlds throughout the universe.

• The universe is full of inhabited worlds, where some are better than Earth and are called the Worlds of Paradise and some are worse than Earth and are called the Worlds of Hell. Living entities are placed in such worlds depending on their spiritual progression (i.e.; their acts, merits, or accomplishments).

• All of God’s creation follow laws and rules according to their spiritual level. Animals, plants, and inanimate objects have their own system, just as we have our own.

What I have learned from Dr. Dahesh that even a tree had evil and good tendencies and can make it possible or forbid a snake from climbing to a bird’s nest perched on its branches. No matter what decision the tree makes, it will be held accountable for it and will face the appropriate consequences. A car can have good or evil tendencies that may protect its driver or lead him to death. A house can have good or evil tendencies that can affect the behavior of the people living in it. Spiritual entities can descend into this world to perform acts of kindness or discipline. We should never envy people for what they have or how they feel, because they have merited being in this position. God is just and fair and what we plant in this life we cultivate in this life and in other life/lives. Dr. Dahesh told me that after Jesus had healed the man inflicted with paralysis, he ran into him in the Temple and said to him: “Listen, you are well now; so stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” This is a direct explanation of the relationship between our behavior and what kind of retribution or punishment we experience.

I end this text by saying that the philosophy of Dr. Dahesh is tremendously broad and I am stopping at this point because I just want to put few lines on this sad and dark day, the day we lost our savior Dr. Dahes--an event that coincides this year short by one day with the death of our savior Jesus Christ. They were both messengers of God to guide and save humanity and we should do our best to follow their teachings and messages. Their messages are the same, because Jesus Christ said I did not come to abolish former religions but to add to them.

The 25th Commemoration

Mounir Murad
April 9, 2009

It was on this day, April 9, 1984 that Our Beloved and Guiding Prophet completed his mission of presenting humanity with the divine gift of Daheshism. It was a very difficult mission, however, the difficulties did not stop him from delivering his message with courage, determination, and confidence. He lived a life full of anguish from those who persecuted him and who attempted to derail his efforts; from the overall behavior of humanity; and from the behavior of those closest to his heart that did not abide by his wishes or by Spiritual instructions. He delivered his message to humanity and returned to the paradise that he originated from to enjoy the fruits of his labor. May God shower his Soul with Divine rewards for the path he laid down for us and leading to our salvation.

Yes, he departed from us 25 years ago and we are so happy that his Soul escaped from the constraints of the human body and became free again to roam the universe. April 9th, 1984 marks the day when the responsibility of continuing what our Beloved had started fell on our shoulders. It is not a matter to be taken lightly, for our Spiritual progression or degradation hinges on: our action or inaction; proper or improper conduct; attentiveness or carelessness to Spiritual instructions; and to follow or disregard the wishes of our Beloved Prophet and Christ.

On April 12th, 1984, I stood by his body just before the closing of the casket and saw his face for the last time in this life. However, my heart will always be with him. I had no doubt about the difficult path that lay ahead. I was then young and untested by life. I envisioned Daheshists immediately coalescing to fulfill the wishes of our Beloved and the Spirit. However, I was very naïve then and did not fully understand what it means to be human. As Daheshists, we are driven by many desires and weaknesses—just like other human beings. We are neither an exception, nor are we exceptional except for our privilege in knowing the Beloved during his life. But privilege doesn’t get us anywhere unless we step up to the plate and make our mark on humanity. Our Beloved once said: “The struggle for the sake of Daheshism is a sacred duty that no Daheshist can escape.” He also said: “The coward—in my belief—is unworthy of living” and “Dear Daheshist, always envision how the end was for the traitor and cursed (Iscariot)…be careful not to fall!”

From the human aspect, the recent collapse of the world economy proved that there are no guarantees in life. If someone is waiting for a clear sign to act, old age and death may come first and an opportunity that may come once in thousands of life cycles is wasted. Our Beloved once said: “Men are two kinds: There are men who kiss the feet of masters to attain glory, and then there are men that glory wishes to kiss their feet, yet they refuse.” Then there are those that do not have full understanding of Daheshism, yet they are eager to promote it, not for the sake of Daheshism per se, but rather to satisfy their own ego and glory. Our Beloved once said: “We all claim knowledge on a wide range of topics, while in reality ignorance fills our hearts.” Time has not stopped, so do we pass on the responsibility to future generations at the expense of our Spiritual progression? Clearly, the choice is up to each one of us to make.

On April 9th, 1984, our Beloved and Guiding Prophet departed from this world and his remains were laid to rest on April 12th, 1984. Exactly 10 years prior, he wrote an inspired poem describing his Soul’s journey to the City of Messengers and Prophets. The poem concludes with a return to this City after his time on earth comes to a close.

On this day, our Beloved, we remember the times we spent with you and remind ourselves that you were a Prophet of God and the Spirit of Christ that lived in our midst, yet very few recognized you. May your struggles and sacrifices during your life on earth motivate many to follow the path of righteousness and love that you had laid down for us to follow.

City of Messengers and Prophets

There, beyond the enormously distant galaxies,
And through those vast gaps extending through out the heavens,
And after I pass by millions of planets spread through out the deep open space,
And cross the homes of bright meteors and the exciting and illuminating stars,
I long to reach the City of Messengers and Prophets…home of the righteous and the pure.

My travel through the endless space continues,
While observing heavenly planets and lofty worlds,
Seeing things that never cross anyone’s mind,
And affirm the greatness of the Creator,
My Soul trembled in awe to what it had touched and observed.

I departed these lofty and noble habitations,
Crossing in Spirit endless and desolate regions [of space],
Where there appeared before me the irrefutable greatness of the Creator,
And I was stunned by all the guarded secrets that were unveiled to me,
So, I bowed down to the Creator of people and beings, glory to His name.

My Spiritual journey through the vast oceans of space continues,
For millions of years—turning into billions of years,
And exposing me to an endless series of great divine spectacles,
So, I fell on my face beseeching the Creator,
To expand my intellect and knowledge, as well as inspire in me the secrets of eternity.

After traveling for billions of years into the deepest regions of space,
There appeared to me the ghost of a magical city,
Created by God in a fascinating Spiritual region,
And in approaching the city,
I realized that its beauty and dazzle are beyond description,
And the divine magnificence of its music delights the ears and captures the minds;
At that point my Soul was intoxicated and I fell into an intense heavenly slumber.

As I returned to my awakened state, the angel of the Holy City informed me that my intoxication lasted for a million years,
And I saw Lord Christ, Buddha, Muhammad, Moses, Elijah, Isaiah, Nahum, David, Daniel, Solomon, Hosea, and a great crowd of Messengers and Prophets.
The Prophets spoke together, as if they were one mouth and one tongue saying to me:
You, who come to us from the world we were sent to previously,
If you deliver your Message properly,
And withstand persecution by the inhabitants of earth and if they falsely accuse you,
Then you will reach this divine planet after your earthly life concludes,
And you will live in our midst under the care of the Creator of all beings.

Dr. Dahesh,
April 12, 1974

By Mounir Murad
February 22, 2009

When our Beloved Prophet was in our midst, he passed on to us his view of proper Daheshist behavior and the qualities that Daheshists must exhibit. The Daheshist standards are very high and, in essence, they are consistent with those of other religions, yet they surpass those of other religions in magnitude due to the heightened Spiritual awareness and knowledge that Daheshism offers. However, Daheshism is not a garment that one wears and automatically labels the wearer as a Daheshist. This is far from being the truth. The belief in Daheshism does not flow from the outside in, but rather, it flows from the inside out. This holds true for all religions. The belief in any religion is a very personal and innate feeling reflecting the Sayyals (Spiritual Fluids) of the individual being of a certain level that matches that of a particular religion and regardless of the religion the individual is born into. When the apostles asked Lord Christ to “Make our faith greater,” he said: “If you had faith as big as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘pull yourself up by the roots and plant yourself in the sea’ and it would obey you.” Luke (17:5-6) Faith is not something that is given to someone, but rather, it flows from within the individual. A person born into one religion may convert to another at a later time. This conversion takes place by the free will of the individual and never by force. In the Qur’an it is written: “There is no compulsion in religion…” Sura Al-Baqara (256) Through this understanding, it follows that no matter how convincing the argument is for the conversion, it will not take place unless the individual wills it and to proselytize is a great waste of time and energy. It is sufficient to present the case for any particular religion and those of merit will believe in it, otherwise they will reject it. In the past, many visited our Beloved Prophet and witnessed many miracles, yet they did not believe in Daheshism.

We should never insinuate that one religion is better than another, for they are all the same in essence and all leading to righteous living and to the Creator. The Daheshist faith did not come to be by splintering from another faith, but rather, it is a new path leading to the Creator and will stand on its own. A Daheshist will always respect other faiths, but will not follow their rituals and ideology as a substitute to those of Daheshism. It is prudent to distinguish between the true essence of a religion and the teachings of that religion placed in the distant past by its clergy. It would be improper to take Daheshist ideology and rituals, combine them with those of other religions and philosophies, and then make the claim that these represent Daheshism. Daheshism is still in its infancy and there are many conscious Daheshists who would not hesitate to safeguard Daheshism from such distortion. Our Beloved Prophet documented all daily events in his diary; Daheshists chronologists documented most of the miracles and prophecies; and the inspired writings of our Beloved Prophet, as well as those selected by the Spirit, will ensure that distortion does not take place.

The Daheshist tenets were laid down to us by the Divine Spirit and delivered to us through our Beloved Prophet, who is the returning Christ. These tenets are not subject to modification to suit our whims or fancies or to attain certain personal gains. Daheshism is a Spiritual Truth that exposes us to many new religious concepts, but it does not provide us with an answer to every question that comes to mind. The tenets of Daheshism are complex and cannot be fully understood by just reading a paragraph or two. Our Beloved Prophet spent many years with his disciple, Dr. Ghazi Brax, nurturing him on Daheshism. The Divine Spirit also instructed Dr. Brax, through an edict that I had witness with my own eyes, to write the “Book of Daheshism.” This is an exclusive edict that was not given to anyone else in the history of Daheshism. To the best of my knowledge, the “Book of Daheshism” is almost complete and spans over 6 volumes and totaling over 3,000 pages. In my case, the Spirit declared me to be an instrument for spreading Daheshism in the United States and I am honored to have this privilege.

The continuing development of the website Daheshism.com is not to serve as a platform that reflects the personal opinion of any individual, but rather, it is an objective effort to faithfully present to the public the life of the founder of Daheshism and his religion. The content is derived from the writings of our Beloved Prophet himself, his inspired books, teachings, and revealed Spiritual Letters. In addition, the website derives a significant amount of information from the writings of his disciple, Dr. Brax, who was very close to him for a period of over 17 years and lived with him day and night for a period of 26 months. Throughout this lengthy period, Dr. Brax witnessed hundreds of miracles and was present when many of the writers, thinkers, literary figures, journalists, politicians, and others visited Dr. Dahesh. One may wonder, why only Dr. Brax? The founder of Daheshism selected him exclusively for reasons relating to previous reincarnations and also because the Divine Spirit had chosen him to write the “Book of Daheshism.” This took place when a blank piece of paper that he held in his hand transformed miraculously into a Spiritual Message informing him that: “You will be inspired in writing the book, in the same fashion the disciples of Christ were inspired when they wrote their Gospels.” For this reason, anyone who contradicts the teachings of the Beloved Prophet and his Spiritually chosen disciple, cannot be considered a Daheshist and will harm the cause of Daheshism.

The spreading of Daheshism in the United States and throughout the entire world is governed by a specific timing and wisdom known only to the Divine Spirit and cannot be predicted by any human being. To the best of my knowledge, there are certain preconditions that must be met before Daheshism takes off: First, there is the publishing of “The Book of Daheshism” by Dr. Brax. The voluminous book is being written in Arabic and will take a significant time to be translated into English and other languages. Second, there is the organization of a body that directs the affairs of the new faith. Our Beloved Prophet and the Spirit provided specific requirements and a constitution for this managing body. Third, there is the merit of the human race to accept Spiritual Guidance. There were other preconditions that have already been met. At this early stage of Daheshism, the most important function is to make faith-related material available to the public. The managing body, temple, and other components can be implemented at a later date. Faith needs to be the solid foundation that we build Daheshism on. With a weak foundation, any elaborate structure will undoubtedly collapse.

In the past, many were frustrated by the inaction of certain Daheshists—especially the family entrusted with the writings and legacy of our Beloved Prophet. I candidly stated my opinion about certain issues, but at no instance that I publicly or privately assassinated their character or questioned their faith. They held the view that my Daheshist activities are premature and should stop. It is their right to take such an opinion and it is my right not to agree with it. There is nothing wrong with stating one’s opinion provided that such an opinion is not in violation of Spiritual instructions. Nonetheless, no matter what position this family chooses to take, it is strictly a matter between them, their conscience, and their Maker. Sooner or later, we will reconcile our differences for the sake of Daheshism, because the noble cause of Daheshism is beyond mortal squabbles. As Daheshists, we all know the consequences of failing to place Daheshism above personal issues, and here is an example:

When the Beloved Prophet was in our midst, certain Daheshists quarreled between each other and he was outraged. This incident prompted him to write and burn a Holy Ramz (a prayer and an offering) containing the following request:

“In the name of God,
The Beloved and Guiding Prophet,
The Six Personalities,
And the Twentieth Spiritual Fluid (Sayyal)

I swear by God Almighty, that after burning this Ramz, if any brother or sister [in faith] uttered an improper word or initiated an attack that causes the Noble Spiritual Faith to disintegrate, at that point, this individual will be expelled from the Mission. Also there must be true love, loyalty, and devotion between the brothers and sisters. I request from the Almighty Spirit to confirm what I had just documented, in the name of God.

Dahesh,
July 5, 1980”

We should never forget the lesson that Lord Christ taught us about not judging others when he said: “Do not judge others, and God will not judge you; do not condemn others, and God will not condemn you; forgive others, and God will forgive you. Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands—all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you.” Luke (6:37-38) The bottom line is: Daheshists should not attack other Daheshists—or anyone else for this matter. Unfortunately that has not always been the case and those perpetrators will undoubtedly face Spiritual consequences. Nonetheless, I am a Daheshist and a believer in Christ who said: “If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in one day, and each time he comes to you saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.” Luke (17:3-4)

Neither Dr. Brax, nor I have an issue declaring our Spiritual credentials. The greatest hypocrisy takes place when individual arrogance places the true teachings of a religion as secondary to the fulfillment of personal glory. “Jesus noticed how some of the guests were choosing the best places, so he told this parable to all of them: “When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not sit down in the best place. It could happen that someone more important than you has been invited, and your host, who invited both of you, would have to come and say to you, ‘Let him have this place.’ Then you would be embarrassed and have to sit in the lowest place. Instead, when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that your host will come to you and say, ‘Come on up, my friend, to a better place.’ This will bring you honor in the presence of all the other guests. For everyone who makes himself great will be humbled, and everyone who humbles himself will be made great.” Luke (14:7-11) At a different occasion, the disciples were arguing among themselves about who was the greatest, Jesus said: “Whoever wants to be first must place himself last of all and be the servant of all.” Mark (9:35)

There are those that believe that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I am sorry, but I don’t subscribe to this line of thinking. My only enemy is evil, ignorance, and arrogance. As a Daheshist and a human being, I harbor no ill will towards anyone and will not be drawn into futile controversies, rants, and accusations that are contrary to my Daheshist beliefs.

When the apostles asked Lord Christ to “Make our faith greater,” he said: “If you had faith as big as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘pull yourself up by the roots and plant yourself in the sea’ ...

It is almost Christmas. These are the last few days leading to this symbolic holiday that represents the birth of the Savior of humanity, Lord Christ. Despite the somber economic realities of this year’s holiday, decorations are visible on the exterior of many homes; retailers had placed Christmas ornaments, signage, and garlands all over their stores; musical performances and holiday chants have been playing around town; and some individuals have been wearing Santa’s hat in order to express their festive mood and hoping to spread the holiday vibes to others.

It is on this day that I joined the multitude of people in the ritualistic gift buying, so that the recipients can recognize such gifts as a token of our love and affection. While at the cash register, I received a telephone call on my mobile phone, but I didn’t recognize the calling number. When I answered it, it turned out to be a young lady that I have known since she was about 6 years of age and who is the daughter of a friend and a coworker of mine. She called to let me know that her father had passed away yesterday! I was very sad and fully realized that no matter what words of comfort I utter, they will not lessen the sadness she felt for the loss of a man responsible for her existence.

My journey with this man began about 15 years ago, first as a client, and then later on as an employee. He had some medical issues and had to close down his business and go on disability. One day he visited me and said to me that he is going crazy at home and asked me for a part time job and I accommodated him. Some people around me were surprised at me for hiring him, because he was at times a difficult man to get along with, yet despite it all, deep down in my soul I must have sensed his decency. Very few people could understand my relationship with him. Heck, I don’t even understand it myself!

He was of Turkish descent and it happened to be that my grandparents from both sides of the family were also Turkish, so when we find ourselves in upsetting situations, we would joke about it and say to each other that it was the work of our “angry Turkish genes.” At times, we would jokingly call each other “a damn Turk.” When his daughter and son were still children, he used to bring them to our office pizza parties. Now his daughter is a fine adult and his son is about to enter college. He used to visit his family in Turkey almost every year and he would always bring me something back—whether it is Turkish delights or a souvenir of some sort. He made his last journey to Turkey several months ago to visit his ailing mother. Little that he knew that it is she who bid him farewell for the last time. It is so difficult when a parent outlives his/her own child.

He took on cycling and engaged in this sport regularly. A little over a year and a half ago, I received a phone call from a family friend informing me that he just had a cycling accident and that he is in intensive care. He had suffered head injuries and the doctors had to operate on him. His doctors placed him in a coma for about 10 days in order to help reduce the brain swelling and speed the recovery. During this same period, my marriage was about to end and I had to go overseas on a business trip with the loss of a true love and the possible loss of a friend. It was the most miserable period of my life. After my return home, I was kept abreast of his condition and one day he showed up at work wearing a special protective helmet. He was worried that he would lose his job and I had to assure him that his job would still be waiting for him and all he needed to worry about is getting better. He asked me about the well being of my wife and I had to tell him that my marriage was over. He was so horribly sad for me in contrast to him being extremely happy for me back when I informed him that I just took the oath of marriage in front of God. I guess one true measure of a genuine friendship is the feeling of happiness for the happiness of a friend and sadness for the sadness of a friend. He felt my sadness and unfortunately, his marriage fell apart soon after and I felt his pain and shared with his sadness. Many were the times that we would briefly chat about our situations and comfort each other.

Last month he had complained about some external bleeding from a scar left from the operation and sought the advice of his doctors, who recommended that he undergo a surgery to replace some of the hardware they placed inside his skull during the first operation. He asked me to give him a ride to the hospital and I did. It was a few days before Thanksgiving Day and I felt real bad for him and his family. On the way we chatted a bit and when I dropped him off I wished him the best. I was about to drive off when he stopped me and gave me a CD that he just created with a mix of some music that he liked. Deep down in my heart I felt that it may be the last time I see him, nonetheless, I needed to be positive and hope that he would be fine.

I called his cell phone several days after the Thanksgiving holiday and left him a message saying that I am checking on him and hope that he is getting better. I received a phone call about two weeks ago from his family friend saying that he had complications from the operation, however, he is showing improvement but it will be a long recuperating period. I asked this friend to keep me informed with his situation. Earlier this week and while addressing my Christmas cards, I wrote him a brief message wishing him good health. Over the past few days I’ve been wondering about his situation and mentioned that to one other coworker. I guess today was the day that my wondering about him from the physical sense came to an end. I will always wonder about his Spiritual wellbeing. I raised a prayer to my Maker asking Him to flood my friend with His infinite Mercy and to help him.

I bid you farewell, my dear friend. May you find the peace and happiness you sought in this life, be present in your new life somewhere in this vast universe.

Godspeed,

Mounir Murad
December 21, 2008

By Mounir Murad

There are those who believe that Christ was miraculously conceived in the womb of a virgin—a view shared by virtually all Christians and Muslims. Then there are those who believe that this is nothing but a fable and that he was conceived through intercourse. In this treatise, I will present the Daheshist view and provide supporting evidence.

The founder of Daheshism, in his inspired “Strange Stories and Wonderful Tales,” wrote:

“There was Lord Christ engaged in a dialogue with Moses, Elijah, Hosea, the Prophets Solomon and his father David, Abraham, Jacob…there was Daniel, the Prophet of God who was thrown unjustly in a den of hungry lions, yet they would not harm him despite their extreme hunger. From their dialogue, I realized that they are all one Person with many Sayyals [Spiritual Fluids]. Each one of these Prophets is a Sayyal from the Main Person and had elevated or degraded his Sayyals with his conduct. They all visited planet Earth at various periods and under different names, while in reality they are all one Prophet sent to Earth to establish a religion that corresponds to the Sayyals of the people living in the era that he materialized in.”

“Lord Christ continued his conversation by saying: I am addressing you now, my congregating Sayyals under the names of many Prophets, for you are me; i.e. you originated from my Sayyals and descended to Earth to fulfill a Divine Message. That’s why I addressed the Jews by saying: “I did not come to destroy but to fulfill,” [“Do not think that I have come to do away with the Law of Moses and the teachings of the prophets. I have not come to do away with them, but to make their teachings come true.” Matthew 5:17] and it is documented in the gospels of my Disciples who recorded my sayings and parables. Is it logical to contradict what I had built in previous and consecutive life cycles? It was for this reason that I stated my known expression. I would have been stoned had I said: “It is I, who established the teachings that came through Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Hosea…etc., because it was I, who was called by these names.” I followed the saying: “address people according to their intellect.” For this reason, I addressed them in symbolism that in time would be deciphered and would clearly reveal my words to the world.”

The Prophet Isaiah, a Sayyal of Christ, wrote in a prophecy about the birth of Jesus Christ:

“He said, "Listen now, house of David. Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God also? Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:13-14)

Despite some of the inaccuracies and conflicts in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, these Gospels are viewed in Daheshism as “inspired” and reading verses from these Gospels is mandated during the Daheshist Day of Congregation held every Monday at 6 pm. Matthew wrote the following about the birth of Jesus Christ:

“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this; for after his mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, before they came together, she was found pregnant by the Holy Spirit. Joseph, her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, intended to put her away secretly. But when he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, don't be afraid to take to yourself Mary, your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. She shall bring forth a son. You shall call his name Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins."

“Now all this has happened, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son. They shall call his name Immanuel;" which is, being interpreted, "God with us." Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife to himself; and didn't know her sexually until she had brought forth her firstborn son. He named him Jesus.” (Matthew 1:13-24)

The preceding passages from Matthew confirm the prophecy of Isaiah.

After about six centuries from the birth of Christ, Islam appeared in the Arabian Peninsula, where the Archangel Gabriel, revealed to the Prophet Muhammad the beautiful versus of the Qur’an. The following versus pertain to the birth of Jesus Christ:

“…And when the angels said: “O Mary, Allah has chosen you and purified you, preferring you to all womankind.” “O Mary, be obedient to your Lord, prostrate yourself and bow down with those who bow down.” This is part of the tidings of the Unseen which We reveal to you.” “…O Mary, Allah bids you rejoice in a word from Him, whose name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary. He shall be prominent in this world and the next and shall be near to God.” He shall speak to people from the cradle and while an old man and will be one of the righteous.” She said: “Lord, how can I have a child when I have not been touched by any man?” Allah said: “Thus Allah creates whatever He pleases. When He decrees a matter, He simply says to it: ‘Be’ and it comes to be.” And He will teach him the book, the Wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel. (Sura 3 Al-‘Imran: 40-45)

The preceding passages from the Qur’an confirm the prophecy of Isaiah and the passages from Matthew.

The founder of Daheshism, in his inspired book “Memoirs of Jesus of Nazareth,” wrote:

“Jesus: At times, my mother would take my brothers’ side, while at other times would take my side. She is a mother that doesn’t wish to see her children fight, so she resorted to this method. However, when her approach failed, she looked at Joseph, my earthly father, and said: Why are you silent? He answered her with sadness: To be truthful, I am puzzled and do not know what to say and you know the reasons more than I do.
Mary: And you don’t know the reasons?
Joseph: No, no, I don’t know the reasons the way you do.
Mary: Don’t you want to talk to your son?
Joseph: He is not my son! Rather, he is the son of Heavens.
Mary: No, he is your son and he is our and everyone’s gift from Heavens.
Joseph: He is not from earth and the teachings of anyone who is not from this earth is undoubtedly Heavenly. How can I stop him and he is the Messenger of Guidance?
Mary: Forgive me Joseph for telling you that I don’t believe in him and that his dialogue is very unusual.
Joseph: In my case, I do believe in his dialogue and teachings. Doesn’t he call for virtue? Can’t you see how he spends his days in supplication, piety, and worship? Is there anyone in our village or in other villages that behaves like him? Isn’t this a firm proof that he is not human?
Mary: He wouldn’t have come in a human fashion if he is who you say he is.
Joseph: How so? Don’t you recall when the angel came to me in a dream and told me ‘Joseph, do not be afraid, for your wife became pregnant with him by the Holy Spirit?’
Mary: Yes, I do remember this. It is extremely puzzling for me and to this day I can’t explain this unusual mystery.
Jesus immediately answered her: Mother, it is futile for you to solve this mystery, so stop your search and know that I am not from your earth. I am the Messenger of Heavens to earth. I was sent to save your world by the One, who controls everything from His place of happiness and everlasting beauty. As to the issue of my existence among you, it is a truth that you should consider it to be an act of providence and care and not be concerned with the method that formed me, for no matter how long you, or anyone else, attempts to reach this knowledge, you will not be able to. Not until I return to this earth again, after my death, that the truth will be unveiled to those who should know it and each according to his merit.”

The preceding passages from the inspired writings of the founder of Daheshism confirm the prophecy of Isaiah, the passages from Matthew, and the Qur’an.

The founder of Daheshism, in his inspired “Strange Stories and Wonderful Tales,” wrote:

“When I used to be known as Jesus Christ, my birth took place in a manger located in the city of Bethlehem and I then grew up in the city of Nazareth. The laws that the Creator had placed for his creatures on Earth applied to me, for I used to get hungry, thirsty, happy, sad, and be subjected to many of the factors that every human being faces—man and woman alike…” “…One of the topics that require contemplation and is widely believed to be true by the inhabitants of the earth—especially by my Christian followers--is the fable of my birth by the Virgin Mary, meaning that I emanated from the Holy Spirit and believed that I was endowed at the time with a Divine Power that prevented me from committing mundane acts and classify me above human. Had they been wise, they would have realized that had my birth took place by a Spiritual Power in the form of a Divine miracle, I would not have received any credit for being righteous, truthful, and insistent and calling for virtue, strengthening one’s belief in religion, and fearing the Day of Judgment.

However, I would receive full credit and encompassing virtue had I been born from parents, where everything that applies to every human being would apply to me and only through conquering earthly temptations and worldly desires that I can subjugate virtue to my will, thereby living virtuously first, prior to preaching it. I will do so without a decrease in determination or falling to weakness by earthly temptations. This matter makes me wonder about the stupidity of the millions that could not pickup on this truth, so they believed in artificiality and abandoned the truth that they should not have been ignorant of.”

In the preceding inspired passages, did the founder of Daheshism negate what was inspired to him in “Memoirs of Jesus of Nazareth?” Absolutely not, for there is a big difference in saying that Jesus Christ emanated from the “Holy Spirit,” or came to be through the Power of the Holy Spirit. It was imperative for the founder of Daheshism to make this identification. To emanate from the “Holy Spirit” means that a Pure Spirit from the Spiritual World would descend to the physical universe and take the form of a human being—a concept that goes contrary to the teachings of Daheshism. The physical world that encompasses the Worlds of Paradise and the Infernal Worlds cannot transgress into the Spiritual World. The Spiritual World is the source of Creation for the entire physical universe. The highest level of Paradise is the home of the Personalities of Christ who rule and guide the physical universe. These Personalities are Sayyals (Spiritual Fluids extending from the Spiritual World to the Material World) from the highest Entity in the Spiritual World before God, namely Christ.

In the summer of 1995, I visited the Daheshist Publishing House in New York, where I asked Dr. Ghazi Brax, who was ordered by the Holy Spirit to write The Book of Daheshism, to clarify to me the virgin birth of Christ. He told me that the Spirit, through Dr. Dahesh, revealed to him and a few other Daheshists, that a Personality of Joseph had descended from its Lofty Paradise and initiated the pregnancy in the Virgin Mary—an act that has nothing to do with sexual intercourse. Mind you, these are the Personalities that can transgress the laws of nature, walk on water, heal the sick, turn water to wine, raise the dead, or defy death. Furthermore, every Prophet that descended to earth in order to deliver a new major religion was born in the same fashion—and that includes our Beloved and Guiding Prophet. Dr. Brax mentioned that he intends to elaborate on this topic in his book, The Book of Daheshism. According to Luke, it was the Archangel Gabriel that made the annunciation to the Virgin Mary. As to how the initiation of the pregnancy took place, the writings of the founder of Daheshism is very clear on this subject: “the truth will be unveiled to those who should know it and each according to his merit.” From what I gather, those who achieved the “merit to know,” are less than a handful—and I am not one of them.
